For the most part, I’ve really enjoyed using Tumblr for this blog project. However, their queue, which I heavily rely on for daily posting, is the buggiest bit of software I’ve ever used. And I’m a professional software developer.
Occasionally it stops posting when it should. Occasionally it just dumps all the posts into published. For a while it would keep posts that were published in the queue and if I removed them from the queue, their published counterpart would be deleted. Sometimes when it dumps posts into published, it will publish them backdated to when I added them to the queue, so I might not even know they’re published.
In short, Tumblr is making it really difficult for me to use Tumblr for this project. I’m going to email them this post and get their feedback since I have heard nothing about these problems from them. Otherwise, I’m taking some time off to catch up on collecting content.
Thanks to everybody that’s been following and reposting despite my frustrations trying to provide a quality blog. I’m going to leave the mess Tumblr’s made of my blog and content they’ve spoiled and focus on what’s next.
